Robert Bloomfield
Journey

Exhibition Dates: 7 December 2019-19 January 2020

Robert Bloomfield is a painter based in Unit 2, Studio 2-34. This exhibition will explore the journey people take to find mindfulness and spirituality in the modern world.

Robert Bloomfield paints tiny figures in stark, unyielding landscapes often making long journeys to distance temples. As an artist he favours spray, acrylic and ink. Mainly working in cool grey tones. The effect is introspective and moody. The smallness of Robert’s human figures, set against the immensity of the landscapes in which they wander, seems to suggest something about the human condition and spirituality. The solitude of each figure really leaves a lot up to your own imagination.

Robert did not have the chance to study art. His style just evolved over years of trial and error in different styles and mediums. Originally starting out with abstract and slowly developing into the stark landscapes he creates today.
