Rae Hicks, Anomaly, at BBNR London (until 31 Mar 2021)

Rae Hicks's (Unit 4, Studio 4-101) Anomaly is the inaugural exhibition at Bobinska Brownless New River, a new gallery project space set in a domestic setting in Islington, north London. BBNR – continuing the ethos of CANAL and monikabobinska - presents stimulating, high-quality work by new, emerging and established artists within a welcoming environment.

"The show comprises paintings made during lockdown I and sculptures made during lockdown II. The works revolve around a fictional primitivistic approach to quotidian surroundings, as though from the viewpoint of an uncomprehending stranger.

Anomaly is accompanied by an edition in acrylic resin of a dummy sci-fi novel of the same title, which is available from the gallery at info@canalprojects.info

Just what ‘opening’ could mean at the moment is obviously unclear, but if you’re interested in seeing the show please contact the gallery for info on when that might be possible, and it will be entirely human encounter free. Otherwise, online documentation coming soon." - Rae Hicks, February 2021
