Irena Krizman

Irena Krizman (Studio TB-131) presents The Rhythm Of Many Nows in Thames-Side Studios Lounge (Woolwich, Unit 0).

”I am interested in intermedial aspects amongst drawing, printmaking, painting, photographic and video processes in creating novel perceptual spaces.

My artistic practice is concerned with the processes. It refers in its approach to the creative tension between composition of emerging patterns, clashing forms, the fragility of traces of existence in relation to the material aspect, granularity, texture, depth of the surface and the reflection of pictorial exploration of light, colour, rhythm and perception.

The initial process of image transfer onto surface in printmaking techniques exploration of permutations, transformations, changes and developing ideas, evolved into digital creation of visual rhythms through layers, repetition and variations. In this series of visuals space is represented as an image of static fragile tracery of fragmental layers of time.

I am particularly interested in relation between the imagery and the soundscape flow. This work represents images of my printmaking body of work that are synchronised, which is achieved through editing using After Effects, with the audio tracks made using Logic Pro. The soundscape and the music production are influenced by the ideas of relationships between music and painting.

I am happy that I have been able to have access to the Thames Side Print Studio to make my work.”
