Tiwani Contemporary presents When Cosmologies Meet, a two-person exhibition featuring Alexandria Smith (Studio 4-102) and Andrew Pierre Hart.

Both artists bring their respective approaches and logics to worlding environments unbound from the limitations defining human experience as we recognise it. These environments perceive utopias that permit an expansion of sensory perception, experience, knowledge and kinship, enabling co-existence.

Alexandria's paintings and mixed-media works are led by her intuitive approach to drawing. These automatic renderings are selected and often worked up into vividly colourful, layered and sensual three-dimensional wood assemblage paintings. These works draw us in to encounter surrealistic vistas that are shaped by the creative and intellectual prowesses, and experiences of the black femme body.
