Vladimir Umanetz
PM/AM Gallery is proud to present Vladimir Umanetz’s (Studios 7-124/127) first solo exhibition, Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, Action Painting, Crash! Vanishing Point. This show marks an important moment in Umanetz’s practice, as he showcases five monumental paintings derived from two of his ongoing works: O-1 (This Car Doesn’t Exist) and O-2 (This Car Doesn’t Exist) (both 2023–present). Known for his innovative exploration of ongoing paintings – works that evolve indefinitely – Umanetz examines the paradox of transformation and permanence by presenting these new canvases as static records of his ever-changing works. Drawing inspiration from Picasso, Jackson Pollock, J.G. Ballard, and the cult film Vanishing Point, this exhibition explores themes of reinvention, motion, and the pursuit of the unattainable.
