Cat Yong is a multi-disciplinary artist who combines her own photography with painting, drawing, lino printing, monoprinting and screenprinting to create her unique artworks. She is passionate about the natural world and the way humanity engages with it, particularly in an urban context so often dominated by bricks and concrete. Her prints strive to reveal the untamed alchemy and magic of nature that exists in plain sight that is so often unseen or ignored. Her work weaves together her love of botany and medicinal plants, birds and the beauty of flight with her interest in spells and old gothic imagery to create works which reveal both the familiar and the otherworldly.
